Castlemaine-Boy > Marine 1st Sergeant Brad Kasal (middle). In the battle for Fallujah, Kasal took rounds in the back, legs and buttocks - which passed through both cheeks leaving 4 holes in him. He also took the brunt of a grenade blast after he used his body to shield another Marine from enemy fire. Kasal killed the gunman responsible for the attack on his and his men.
Castlemaine-Boy > Gunnery Sgt. Ryan P. Shane, platoon gunnery sergeant, Company B, 1st Battalion 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 7, pulls a fatally wounded Marine to safety while under fire during Operation Al Fajr. Seconds later Shane was also wounded by enemy fire.
